Independent Candidate McMullin Live-Tweets Trump Speech: ‘Gives Aid and Comfort to ISIS’
CIA veteran Evan McMullin, the recently-announced conservative independent presidential candidate, live-tweeted Donald Trump‘s foreign policy speech today, and boy did he have some problems.
Trump touched on issues like ideological vetting of immigrants to a “commission on radical Islam” to support for carrying out a war crime.
McMullin was, needless to say, pretty alarmed by his remarks:
What @realDonaldTrump doesn't understand is that dictators create terrorists. They are two sides of the same coin. I've been there. I know.

.@realDonaldTrump vilifies all Muslims as terrorists because he doesn't understand how to defeat Islamist terrorism. I do.
— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) August 15, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump would rather advance the ideas of dictators than those of democracy and basic human rights.

How does @realDonaldTrump intend to work with our allies against terrorists when he's insulted them all?
— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) August 15, 2016
In @realDonaldTrump's "new approach," America turns its back on the universal cause of freedom and allows terrorism to thrive.
— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) August 15, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump gives aid and comfort to ISIS when he undermines America's core ideals.
— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) August 15, 2016
"Extreme", @realDonaldTrump? You sound more like ISIS than an American president.
— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) August 15, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump doesn't know the first thing about high value terrorist targets. I've helped take them off the battlefield.
— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) August 15, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump has no real strategy and no solutions for defeating Islamist terrorism and it shows.
— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) August 15, 2016
Last week McMullin called Trump an “inhuman” authoritarian. Now we’re up to “you sound more like ISIS.”
It’s only August.
