ISIS Reportedly Orders Iraqi Women to Undergo Genital Mutilation (UPDATED)

UPDATE (4:49 PM EST): Citing numerous reporters from other outlets in the region, the Washington Examiner has declared this mostly a “hoax.”

NBC News has reported the new awful thing that ISIS is doing: According to their sources, the terrorist group occupying Iraq has issued a fatwa ordered all females between the ages of 11 and 46 living in and around the city of Mosul to undergo genital mutilation.

“This is not the will of Iraqi people, or the women of Iraq in these vulnerable areas covered by the terrorists,” UN representative Jacqueline Badcock told the press.

According to the World Health Organization, female genital mutilation “comprises all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.” It’s mostly done without anesthesia, with razor blades, and can result in death.
