Jay-Z is Making a Feature Film and Docu-series About Trayvon Martin

Jay-Z and The Weinstein Company have signed on to do two projects about Trayvon Martin‘s life and death, according to a report from Vanity Fair. They’ll be making a movie and a docu-series based on the books Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It by Lisa Bloom and Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, which was written by his parents.
Martin was shot and killed in 2012 by George Zimmerman, a member of the neighborhood watch in his community. Zimmerman said he shot him following an altercation. His subsequent acquittal of murder sparked protests across the United States.
The docu-series will be in six parts and the film will be feature-length.
