Jeb Bush Bussed in Supporters for CPAC Appearance

With the fundraising chops and establishment connections, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has thus far been regarded as the most serious and prepared of the potential 2016 Republican candidates.

His CPAC efforts demonstrate why. Per Slate’s Betsy Woodruff, Bush’s Right to Rise PAC bussed in supporters for his CPAC appearance yesterday.

Woodruff obtained emails in which an advance team for Bush’s PAC is seen coordinating transportation from DC in an effort to secure as many seats as possible during Bush’s Q&A with Sean Hannity yesterday, which in turn was delayed by a public service address on STDs.

One CPAC attendee told Woodruff Bush was the only speaker to bus in supporters. That might be because, as the putative establishment choice, Bush faces pushback from the more conservative elements of the Republican Party, who come out in force for CPAC. Laura Ingraham criticized Bush hours before his schedules appearance, while some attendees staged a minor walk out when he arrived.
