Jeb Bush Had a Private Meeting with Bill O’Reilly
Today was a big day for Jeb Bush. First, he launched a new PAC called Right to Rise, and tonight, Politico is reporting that Jeb Bush held a private meeting with none other than Bill O’Reilly.
A Bush aide confirmed the meeting to Politico. Now, the exact reasons for the meeting are unknown, but given that Bush is a more moderate, establishment figure with eyes on 2016, O’Reilly is one of the likeliest voices on the right to hear Bush out.
In fact, last year when Bush said that illegal immigration is mostly an “act of love,”, O’Reilly claimed credit for the phrase, said Bush was basically using his line, and agreed with the underlying sentiment.
In a segment last month, O’Reilly called Bush a “pretty good governor of Florida” and said he was “very good on education,” while acknowledging his problems on immigration with the GOP base:
This week, though, O’Reilly said in a segment on Bush’s presidential aspirations that he doubts the former Florida governor has the “fire in his belly” to effectively combat Hillary Clinton if they go up against each other. You can watch that video here, via Fox News:
