Jenny McCarthy Mad That Charlie Sheen Didn’t Disclose HIV For Fake Kiss Scenes
Actress and anti-vaccine activist Jenny McCarthy blasted Charlie Sheen Wednesday for failing to disclose his HIV status to her when she played his love interest on “Two and a Half Men.”
“Now being on ‘Two and a Half Men’ myself, I feel like in playing a love interest, you would think there would be some type of, I don’t want to say criminal issue, but I don’t even know how to feel about that,” McCarthy said on her radio show, insisting Sheen should have told her he was HIV-positive when she appeared on the sitcom.
McCarthy went on to say that as an actress, she has to disclose her herpes status to anyone she’s filming with. “How could you not be upfront about HIV?” she asks. “I look back and I’m like, ‘OK, that would have been some valuable information.'”
I mean, look how many people have played his love interest on the show,” she added.
McCarthy said she’s “STD-phobic,” insisting that when she was dating, she made everyone get an HIV test. “I wouldn’t sleep with anyone until I got the right paperwork, so even playing his love interest on the show back in the day, I go like, ‘Ick, ugh, that’s not fair and scary.’”
McCarthy said she’s sympathetic to Sheen because “he’s sick an it’s awful,” but said the star is “going to have to take some major accountability with many people in his life.”
