John Boehner Will Campaign With Rich Iott, Nazi Reenactor (And Congressional Candidate)

 

Maybe all that sunbathing has affected John Boehner’s decision-making skills. The House Minority Leader recently announced that this weekend, he will campaign with Ohio Republican Rich Iott—the congressional candidate who made headlines when the media learned that he enjoys dressing up as a Nazi in his spare time.

As The Huffington Post’s Sam Stein reports, Iott and Boehner will appear together at the Lucas County Republican Party headquarters.

“It is, if nothing else, a risky stop for Boehner to make just days before the election,” opines Stein. That sounds like a bit of an understatement to us. Though Iott has tried to persuade the media to stop focusing on his little hobby, our own Jon Bershad may have said it best: “As hated a term as ‘career politician’ has become in this country, it’s probably never going to sound as bad as ‘Nazi sympathizer.'”
