If you had told us two years ago that this election was going to be as much about tacos as it is, we probably wouldn’t have believed you. To be fair, if you told us two years ago that this election was going to be as much about Donald Trump as it is we also probably wouldn’t have believed you. Things change.
Tacos are all over the place right now. Taco bowls, taco trucks, everything is tacos. Celebrity chef José Andrés is jumping on the taco bandwagon by announcing that he’ll be giving free tacos out to voters on November 8th.

Stop by Oyamel in Washington, D.C. and show your “I Voted” sticker, and you can get a free taco at the bar.
Incidentally Andrés is also more a part of this election than we ever thought he would be. The chef was supposed to operate the anchor restaurant at Trump’s D.C. hotel, but after hearing the GOP candidate’s anti-immigrant rhetoric, he decided to pull out of the project, resulting in a lawsuit and subsequent countersuit. He also recently received a National Humanities Medal from President Barack Obama.
