Judd Apatow, Jim Carrey, Others Drop Out of New Yorker Festival For Inviting Steve Bannon (UPDATE)

The New Yorker is facing fierce backlash for the inclusion of former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon at its upcoming festival.

It was announced Monday that the Trump ally would be headlining the annual festival and would be interviewed by the New Yorker‘s editor in chief, David Remnick, which sparked outrage among its readers.

Now, several other guest speakers are dropping out of the event in protest, including Judd Apatow, Jim Carrey, John Mulaney, and Jack Antonoff.

The guest lineup still includes Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Patton Oswalt, Christine Baranski, Jimmy Fallon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, MSNBC host Chris Hayes, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.

UPDATE (6:57PM): Bannon was officially disinvited to the festival.
