Kanye West Wants to Design Ikea Furniture

Ikea furniture is known for being inexpensive, efficient, ubiquitous in New York City apartments, and extraordinarily difficult to put together. Even though everyone is using it, though, it still lacks a “cool” factor. Enter Kanye West.

The rapper, fashion designer, and possible 2020 Presidential candidate announced on BBC Radio 1 that he wants to- sorry, needs to design chairs and tables for the Swedish brand. He said, “I have to work with Ikea – make furniture for interior design, for architecture.”

He’s hoping to allow students to have a “a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm.” He continued, “Yo Ikea, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes.”

If we know Kanye, and we feel like we do, his vision is probably going to become a reality. And although Ikea hasn’t commented yet on whether or not they will be collaborating with West, we do know that he was seen at Ikea’s main office in Sweden earlier this year.
