Maher Dubs News Media a ‘Terrorist Delivery System’ for ISIS
HBO Real Time host Bill Maher has labeled the U.S. new media a “terrorist delivery system” for showing images of beheaded American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff.
“Why does our media act as a terrorist delivery system?” Maher wrote Tuesday on Twitter. He compared it to rewarding rogue sports fans with publicity. “When a fan runs on field NFL doesn’t show it,” Maher said, “but we oblige [Islamic terrorist network] ISIS.”
The American news media has, for the most part, declined to publish the full video recordings of the ISIS beheadings. But some outlets, including the New York Post, have showed the chilling moments leading into the executions.
