Media Elite? MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Assures Viewers Richard Branson Survived Hurricane Irma . . . in His Wine Cellar
As MSNBC battered viewers with Category 5 Hurricane coverage, network anchor Stephanie Ruhle revealed an intriguing nugget about — Richard Branson.
The billionaire Chairman of the Virgin Group apparently rode out the storm in a wine cellar on Necker Island, his private slice of paradise in the British Virgin Islands.
Ruhle made the reveal during an airing of the 11:00 a.m. program Velshi & Ruhle.
“Something we can’t forget as Florida prepares for this, those who have already been hit,” said Ruhle initially playing the everyman card.
It was a position she soon abandoned.
“Sir Richard Branson stayed on his private island, Necker Island, I actually got an email this morning from his team, saying they all hunkered down, they were in yes, albeit a wine cellar.”
… Tragic.
The moment was more than a little reflective of the crowds Ruhle associates with and won’t dispel any notions anyone has about the cozy relationship between big money and big media.
Or put another way — Richard Branson’s “team” never emails me anything.
