Megyn Kelly: I Told Duggars They Won’t Get ‘Pass on the Tough Questions’
Megyn Kelly will sit down tonight with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar for an exclusive interview about their son Josh Duggar confessing to molesting young girls (including his own sisters) when he was a teenager.
Kelly said earlier this week that she’ll be “tough but fair,” and it won’t be a “cross-examination of the Duggars.
But in an interview today with TheWrap, Kelly elaborated on exactly how she scored the interview and what she told the Duggars to expect. TheWrap describes the interview as “Oprah-style,” and Kelly said that when she approached the Duggars, this is what she conveyed:
“I said, ‘I am going to ask you the tough questions. You will not be getting a pass on the tough questions. But I will be fair, and you will be permitted to answer and offer context.’ And it will not be a ‘gotcha’ or an attempt to bring down the Duggars… That is not my role.”
Kelly also talked about her tough interviews with presidential candidates, explaining, “You’re telling me and the nation that you want George Washington‘s job? You better expect some very tough questions.”
