Michael Avenatti Gets Roasted After Arrest: From 2020 to ’20 to 30′

As if getting charged on an alleged $20 million extortion attempt from Nike wasn’t enough, Michael Avenatti now has to face the ridicule of the online mob. The former attorney, best known for representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Donald Trump, is the subject of delight for many — particularly those already celebrating Trump’s vindication from Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s three-year-long Russia probe Sunday.
“Finally time to take the bandages off of my massive “Avenatti 2020″ back tattoo. But first, to scan today’s headlines,” tweeted podcaster Patrick Monahan. MSNBC’s Sam Stein joked it “would be remarkable if Trump pardoned Avenatti just to own him.”

Others used the new information to dismiss credibility of Avenatti or of those at mainstream media corporations like CNN and MSNBC who had supported him. GOP analyst Patrick Ruffini joked that if this hadn’t happened, Avenatti may have been on his way to running for president in 2020.
“This Avenatti news is icing on the cake for President Trump’s week,” tweeted CNN White House correspondent Abby Phillips.
The attorney even received a scathing review from his former client, who said she was “saddened but not shocked” about the charges against Avenatti — referring to the lawyer as “extremely dishonest.”
