Mitt Romney On Herman Cain: Vote For Either One Of Us And You’ll Be Happy

At a town hall Monday night in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney, when asked to draw a difference between himself and Herman Cain, spewed a string of niceties about his strongest Republican competitor before sliding in a quick, not-so-subtle reminder that he has government experience, which Cain lacks:

Still, when given the opportunity to really dig into Cain’s lack of experience, Romney instead offered up some genuine-sounding praise:

“He’s a great guy. Vote for either one of us and you’ll be happy.”

There’s no telling if this complimentary attitude will carry over to tonight’s debate, but it’s definitely a refreshing change from the constant undermining and hammering that we’re used to in the political realm. And tonight’s debate setting–with the candidates sitting together at a roundtable instead of being spaced out at podiums several feet apart–lends itself to a homey, almost collaborative effort, where niceties are welcome and disagreements get you sent upstairs to your room.

The debate, it should also be noted, might not be available in every household. For houses without Bloomberg News, it can be streamed live on PostPolitics.com or Bloomberg.com, listened to on Bloomberg Radio, or, for New Hampshire residents, the debate can be seen on WBIN-TV. So check your local listings. It begins at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern).
