Is Candace Bushnell about to do for a Web series what she did for HBO? The Sex and the City creator has teamed up with More magazine on a Web series about women in the business world — The Broadroomdebuting this September. Mediaweek reports that the cast will include Jennie Garth from Beverly Hills, 90210, and Talia Balsam from Mad Men.Two columns from Bushnell will also appear in the September and October issues.

With September on the horizon, most magazines are singing the blues (and seeing red). But More has thrown itself headlong into this year’s challenges, expanding into a new medium (and even putting a Twitter widget on its homepage: #tweetyourage!). Per Mediaweek:

More editor Lesley Jane Seymour said she hopes the series will become the “next Lipstick Jungle.”

“It’s funny, and a lot of women will recognize themselves,” she said. “There’s the Millennial and Boomer women, all representative of different crowds we see in business.”

The Meredith glossy geared towards 40-something career women is a quiet success right now: YTD Pages are only down 2.32 percent from last year, and Maybelline has signed-on to sponsor the Web series. Not to mention and Meredith CEO Steve Lacy is dominating the Power Grid as #1 Magazine Titan.
