A package has been sent to Eric Trump — the middle son of presidential candidate Donald J. Trump — at his New York City apartment that reportedly contained white powder and an extremely threatening letter.
The apartment at Trump Parc East received the suspicious mail on Thursday that was postmarked from Massachusetts, according to CBS New York. The children of Eric Trump were directly threatened in the letter if the real estate mogul would not drop out of the presidential race.
The NYPD released the following statement:
“At approximately 7:15 p.m., the NYPD responded to a residential building at 100 Central Park South to investigate a report of a suspicious letter received by a tenant. The letter has been removed and is being examined by law enforcement authorities. No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.”
The letter, which arrived at Eric Trump’s 14th Floor apartment in the building, was opened by his wife Lara when white powder fell out of the package. The NYPD, FDNY, and other local law enforcement are still investigating. Watch the above report from CBS-2 New York.
