New Republic Twitter Feed to Donald Trump: ‘Fuck Me Daddy’
On Tuesday the Twitter feed for The New Republic sent out an eye brow-raiser to its 56.1K followers:
The Tweet was understandably deleted within minutes, but not before we managed to take the above screenshot. It seems as if the account was being taken over by author and poet Patricia Lockwood, who quickly took to her own Twitter page as soon as the, uh, let’s call it sexually suggestive Tweet aimed at the Donald was taken down.
well that was fun while it lasted

The account for the New Republic thanked Lockwood for her efforts, though completely skipped over the fact that she had just, you know, said “fuck me daddy” to the leading Republican Presidential contender from their very public account.

Welp, that’s certainly one way to get people to read your piece (note to self…). In a statement to Mediaite, Lockwood poetically opined, “Why do fish swim, why do birds fly? Why does Donald Trump tan until he’s the color of the apocalypse? I’m a poet, I like to bring things full circle.”
