Newtown Council Votes to Tear Down Sandy Hook Shooter’s House
The Newtown, Connecticut city council voted to tear down the house previously occupied by the Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza. The city took control of the house just last month.
The house was part of the estate formerly owned by Nancy Lanza, the shooter’s mother. It had been more recently owned by her son Ryan, who allowed the property to be sold.
The town council voted this week, unanimously, to tear down the house. Lanza had shot his mother there before killing more innocents at Sandy Hook Elementary School. A town official said there’s no firm timetable to tear down the house, but the demolition will “take place as soon as is practical.”
