NY Store Clerk Faced Off Armed Robber with a Machete
An armed robber showed up at Stanly Convenience Store this weekend and took about $700 in cash and two cartons of cigarettes.
But according to the New York Daily News, clerk Bidel Elmontiher tried to stop the man as he walked to the back of the store by putting out a giant machete.
In already-released surveillance video, you can see Elmontiher barricading the store door from the outside, brandishing the machete. The robber tried to get out and then just shot through the glass. It missed Elmontiher but hit a security guard.
The robber fled on a bike and the guard was brought to the hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
