NYC Man Tries to Shove Commuter Onto Subway Tracks Yelling ‘I Hate White People’
A New York City man was arrested Monday for attacking a fellow commuter while yelling about his hatred of white people.
51-year-old Queens native Gary Weeks tried to shove his victim onto the subway tracks at a Harlem station. “I hate white people!” he reportedly yelled before the attack.
The would-be victim got away with the help of a passerby. The police arrived shortly afterwards, but Weeks reacted violently and spat in the face of arresting officers.
Weeks has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated harassment in connection with a hate crime, pending a psychiatric evaluation.
