Obama Drinks Filtered Water in Flint to Assure People It’s Safe
President Obama is in Flint, Michigan today to discuss the ongoing water crisis, and during an event he took a sip of some filtered water.
He referred to it as a “stunt” before drinking it and saying all the water was filtered from Flint, reassuring that the water is now drinkable. Obama still made it clear there’s still work that needs to be done in the interim.
Governor Rick Snyder had said he wanted the president to drink the filtered water, like he pledged to do for 30 days (except for that trip he took in the middle of it).
In fact, Snyder was at the same event as the president today and was roundly booed.
