Obama Speaks To Troops In Afghanistan

 


President Barack Obama spoke to approximately 2,500 assembled American servicemen and women today at Bagram Air Base during his surprise trip to Afghanistan. Obama met earlier with President Hamid Karzai to address issues such as drug trafficking, and cracking down on insurgents. “Our mission,” Obama told the armed forces, was to dismantle and destroy al-Qaeda. This message comes two days after Osama Bin Laden sent out his most recent videotape, threatening to kill American captives. Despite the serious tone of the days events, Obama still managed to bring his message of hope to the troops.
