O’Reilly Guest Bernie Goldberg Calls out ‘Impulsive’ Trump for Hypocrisy on Syria
Conservative commentator Bernie Goldberg has a question for President Donald Trump:
“What changed?”
Goldberg posed that question on The O’Reilly Factor Tuesday night during a segment in which he called out the President for a flip-flop on his position on Syria.
Referencing a series of 2013 tweets in which Trump urged President Barack Obama to say out of Syria, Goldberg called out Trump for his changed position in what appears to be the similar circumstances.
The difference between citizen Trump and President Trump was enormous. In 2013, when Bashar al-Assad launched his first major poison gas attack on his own people, Donald Trump was repeatedly and vehemently against any, any action against Syria. That’s when Barack Obama was president. What changed? Let’s see. It was a crime against humanity in 2013, it was a crime against humanity week or so ago.
The conservative pundit said his comments were not to be taken as “Trump-bashing,” but nonetheless, Goldberg believes Trump needs to be less reactionary.
“This is an impulsive man,” Goldberg said. “That’s why he tweets the way he does, that’s why he responds to criticism the way he does. Now he’s President, not citizen trump. He watches television, he sees images, and he wants to do something about it. I am thrilled that he did. But acting impulsively, while satisfying, is not a substitute for well thought out foreign policy. And we don’t know what that foreign policy is.”
