Trump Confirms Kushner-Bannon Drama: ‘Straighten It Out or I Will’

Buried in last night’s news blizzard was a small but revealing nugget from the New York Post. Reporter Michael Goodwin managed to speak with President Donald Trump who seemingly confirmed many of the palace intrigue reports between Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner.

“Steve is a good guy,” Trump told Goodwin. “But I told them to straighten it out or I will.” Strictly speaking, it’s not clear who the other side of “them” was, but the growing news reports of drama between the chief strategist and Trump’s son-in-law leaves little doubt.

In addition to that revelation, Trump also pointedly declined to take Bannon’s side in whatever dispute is underway, instead giving Goodwin an ominous answer about how Bannon wasn’t as indispensable as people might think.

Per the Post:

“I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late,” Trump said. “I had already beaten all the senators and all the governors, and I didn’t know Steve. I’m my own strategist and it wasn’t like I was going to change strategies because I was facing crooked Hillary.”

President Bannon? Maybe not.
