Orrin Hatch Reacts to Trump’s Suspected Campaign Finance Crimes: ‘I Don’t Care’

Outgoing Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) told reporters he doesn’t really care about President Trump‘s possible new legal troubles.

There’s been a new round questions about Trump’s legal exposure in the last few days, thanks to Robert Mueller‘s memos and the the Federal investigators who implicated the president in connection with Michael Cohen‘s campaign finance lawbreaking. But Hatch, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, reportedly told CNN’s Manu Raju that he doesn’t care about Trump’s alleged crimes — and doesn’t think the president was actually involved in Cohen’s hush money payments on his behalf.

Hatch went on to suggest Trump’s alleged wrongdoing from before he became president holds no bearing on the present.

The counterargument among critics is that Trump supposedly ordered his personal lawyer to break the law in order to help secure his victory in the 2016 election.
