Paramount Apologizes for Cringeworthy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 9/11 Poster

Earlier today, Paramount Pictures Australia released this poster for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

The unintentional 9/11 imagery bothered a lot of people, as you can imagine.

Well, hours after they pulled the poster from its social media pages, Paramount Australia sent this apologetic statement to BuzzFeed.

“We are deeply sorry to have used that artwork for the marketing materials promoting the September 11 opening in Australia. Combining that image and date was a mistake. We intended no offense and have taken immediate action to discontinue its use.”

So presumably, they’ll be releasing another poster that does not feature anyone falling from a building with that 9/11 release date.
