Paul Ryan Reads Mean Tweets: ‘Proof You Don’t Need a Spine to Do P90X’

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) posted a video to Twitter on Wednesday strictly for a few laughs, using the popular and widespread “reading mean Tweets out loud” concept pioneered by Jimmy Kimmel.

Ryan’s video didn’t contain the meanest tweets, and obviously these were the “cleanest”; The four letter variety will have to settle for retweet immortality.

Still, it was pretty funny.

“Paul Ryan is proof you don’t need a spine to do P90X,” read one tweet, a reference to a workout program.

Another said “I want to high five Paul Ryan’s face with a shovel. Just hard enough to make him see birdies. Hate that smug look.”

Naturally, some bitterly humorless cranks found a way to mean tweet about the mean tweet video, but you’ll just have to wait for the next one to see what they said. Or, you know, go look on Twitter.

In closing, I’d like to note that it’s possible the Speaker of the House doesn’t know what “smug look” means.
