PHOTO: ‘If We Had Guns That Shot Chocolate…’ Biden Responds To 2nd-Grader With Handwritten Note

A 7-year-old second-grader from Wisconsin wrote a letter to Vice President Joe Biden several months ago following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and just this week got a very personal response.

The student, named Myles, sent his letter to Biden and Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI), suggesting, “if we have chocolate bullets, nobody would get hurt and nobody would be sad.” While Moore replied with a form letter, Biden hand-wrote the insightful response below:

In case you have trouble reading Biden’s handwriting, the letter reads:

“Dear Myles, I’m sorry it took me so very long to respond to your letter. I really like your idea. If we had guns that shot chocolate, not only would our country be safer, it would be happier. People love chocolate. You are a good boy, Joe Biden.”
