Piers Morgan Goes After NRA, ‘Gun Nuts’ on Twitter Following Colorado Shooting
CNN’s Piers Morgan, who has spent a good portion of 2013 fighting against gun rights groups and activists, took to Twitter Friday afternoon to express his outrage over another school shooting on the eve of tomorrow’s Newtown anniversary.
BREAKING NEWS: On eve of Sandy Hook massacre – another school shooting, in Colorado. Several students reported injured. #CNN

Why is anyone surprised by more school shootings in America? Absolutely nothing has been done to prevent them since Sandy Hook.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 13, 2013
Colorado is, of course, where they've spent the last few months throwing out politicians who had the audacity to advocate gun control.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 13, 2013
Gun nuts out in force on here again tonight. Angry, belligerent, threatening – the very people, ironically, who should never have guns.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 13, 2013
When a followers suggested it was “too soon” for “gun control rhetoric, Morgan replied, “When’s the right time?”
80+ Americans shot dead every day, when's the right time? > RT @HollysHere @piersmorgan Too soon (at least today) for gun control rhetoric.

He then continued by tying the lack of action on guns to the NRA, which promoted items from its store as “last minute gift” after news of the school shooting broke:
The 1st priority of any country should be to protect its children. America's refusal to do anything about guns since Newtown is shameful.

As usual, the only suggestion put forward by the gun lobby to counter school shootings is…MORE GUNS! Ker-ching. @NRA #Colorado

Within minutes of the Colorado school shooting, the @NRA posted this link > pic.twitter.com/3s5fP3LRq5 ….DISGUSTING.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 13, 2013
I urge all decent Americans to tweet @NRA now and demand they remove that repulsive tweet. Stop them cashing in on school shootings.

Morgan is expected to cover the Arapahoe High School shooting, including an interview with the father of one of last year’s Aurora, Colorado shooting victims, on his show tonight during the 9pm hour on CNN.
