Pittsburgh PD Prepared In Case Trump Supporters Make Good on Gun Threats Against Protesters

After a post appeared on the Pittsburgh-specific page of Reddit that appeared to be from an open-carry group and called on other open-carry activists to attend a Donald Trump rally today ready to confront protesters, the police in the city went on high alert.

The creator of the post said that assault weapons were preferred for their patrol of the protesters and “support” for the rally. The original post is still available in screengrab form on social media, but no longer appears on the subreddit.

Police have warned students at the nearby university of the potential for crowds and protests and have issued a statement reminding anyone carrying a gun that they are not allowed on private property. According to WPXI, they are preparing for protests on “both sides.”

Thus far, there have been no updates. It is five hours after the armed group was set to assemble.
