Publisher of Gun Rights Kids’ Book: Bill Maher Mocking It Helped Sales

 

There’s a gun rights book for children that’s gotten some attention in the past few weeks called My Parents Open Carry. It came out a while ago, but started getting attention recently, especially when Bill Maher mocked the book on his show last week. Well, it turns out Maher bringing it up actually helped the sales.

Skip Coryell, the founder of the book’s publisher White Feather Press, explained, “Sales were weak for the first few years. But after it was trashed on the show, sales have gone up.”

He said this quite literally “happened overnight” and took him by surprise. My Parents Open Carry is currently the number one best-seller on Amazon’s list of children’s government books.

Maher wasn’t the only one to mock the book, Stephen Colbert also had some fun with it this week too. You can watch that video below, via Comedy Central:
