Rand Paul Proposes Schools Post Stickers Saying ‘We Are Armed, Come In at Your Own Peril’
Rand Paul argued against making gun-free schools today, instead suggesting that schools put stickers on the windows warning potential gunmen to proceed at their peril.
Paul spoke with Iowa radio host Jan Mickelson yesterday and said that it’s “sad” how President Obama has tried to make the Oregon shooting about guns.
He said that the clear problem here is mental illness and that “people are going to places where guns are prohibited.”
“I would do the opposite,” Paul said. “I would have and encourage every school in America to put stickers on every window going into the school saying, ‘We are armed. Come in at your own peril. We have concealed carry for teachers who have it and we also have armed security and you will be shot.'”
Paul also said that it’s possible some of the violent “perversion” we’re witnessing is due to America lacking “a certain belief in right and wrong, a certain Christian foundation or religious foundation to our country.”
