Rolling Stone Managing Editor on Rape Report: ‘That Failure Is on Us’

Rolling Stone managing editor Will Dana owned up earlier today to some serious discrepancies in its report about an alleged rape case at the University of Virginia. He said after running the report weeks ago, they since learned information that left them to conclude their trust in the girl whose testimony was the basis for their report was “misplaced.”

But just hours later, Dana elaborated on Twitter to say they made the wrong judgment call and aren’t trying to blame her for their “failure”:

1/I can’t explain the discrepancies between Jackie’s account and the counter statements made by Phi Psi.
