Roy Moore Challenges Kimmel: If You Want to Mock Alabama Values, ‘Do It Man to Man’

During a campaign event at an Alabama church yesterday, a comedian sent by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel showed up to poke fun at the embattled Alabama GOP Senate nominee by acting as a Moore superfan. Playing fictional character Jake Byrd, comic Tony Barbieri wore a shirt that read “Gimme Moore” while interrupting Moore’s speech to shout that the ex-judge is a “man’s man,” and asking if the Senate candidate’s mug looks “like the face of a molester.”
Earlier today, Kimmel took to Twitter to point out that he sent Barbieri down to crash the Moore event, linking to an Al.com article about the incident.

Moore is now firing back. The former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice tweeted out a challenge to the ABC host, calling on Kimmel to visit the state himself if he wants to mock Alabama’s “Christian values.”
.@jimmykimmel If you want to mock our Christian values, come down here to Alabama and do it man to man. #ALSen https://t.co/E7oQB9D83P

Moore also attached a link to an “Exclusive” Breitbart piece in which a senior campaign advisor to Moore also used the “man to man” line while claiming that “Hollywood will not bully us around.”
The GOP Senate candidate is currently dealing with a firestorm of controversy due to numerous women coming forward to accuse Moore of pursuing sexual relationships with him while they were teenagers and he was in his 30s. One woman has alleged that Moore initiated sexual contact with her when she was 14 and he was 32. Another woman has said that Moore tried to rape her when she was only 16.
UPDATE 4:46 PM ET: Kimmel has since responded to Moore, leading to a bit of a back-and-forth between the two.
Sounds great Roy – let me know when you get some Christian values and I’ll be there!

OK Roy, but I'm leaving my daughters at home! P.S. – wear that cute little leather vest
