Rupert Murdoch ‘Not Fit Person’ To Run International Company, UK Lawmakers Say

Could the UK phone hacking scandal bring down Newscorp impresario Rupert Murdoch? UK lawmakers ruled on Tuesday that Murdoch “is not a fit person to exercise the stewardship of a major international company.”

The committee found “News of the World and News International misled the Committee about phone hacking.” CNN’s Richard Allen Greene and Dan Rivers determined that the news could “prompt British regulators to force him to sell his controlling stake in British Sky Broadcasting, a significant part of his media empire.”

Murdoch acknowledged last week there was a “cover-up” of phone hacking at News of the World, and apologized for not paying more attention to the scandal that may have implications to his news empire in the United States.
