Sarah Palin Defends Fellow Reality TV Star Phil Robertson

The star of The Sportsman Channel’s new outdoor reality show Amazing America spoke out in defense of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, who was suspended by A&E Wednesday night for comments he made against homosexuality. Sarah Palin, who also ran for vice president of the United State in the 2008 election, issued her statement on Facebook, along with a photo of her visiting with Robertson and the rest of the Duck Dynasty cast on location in Louisiana:

Palin’s comment, which has received nearly 300,000 “likes,” criticizes “intolerants” for “hatin'” on Robertson’s First Amendment right to free speech. Of course, as most Americans who have some experience in government are aware, the right to free speech does not bar a private company from suspending or firing an employee, especially if that employee’s job involves speaking on television.

If you recall, when MSNBC accepted Martin Bashir‘s “resignation,” Palin praised the media for pushing him out. Was he not just voicing his personal opinion?
