Sarah Palin Says She Was ‘Duped’ by Sacha Baron Cohen

With Sacha Baron Cohen revealing he’s been secretly working on a new Showtime series, Sarah Palin has come forward claiming she was one of the people duped by him.

Somehow the comedian scored an interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney for Who Is America?, and Palin confirmed a tweet from Matt Drudge saying she was among the others he sat down with.

In a Facebook post this afternoon, Palin claims that Cohen disguised himself as a disabled vet for the interview:

For my interview, my daughter and I were asked to travel across the country where Cohen (I presume) had heavily disguised himself as a disabled US Veteran, fake wheelchair and all. Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long “interview” full of Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm – but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin. The disrespect of our US military and middle-class Americans via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse.

She invites him to release the unedited footage and says, “HOW DARE YOU mock those who have fought and served our country. Truly sick.”

Palin even accuses him and his team of dropping her and her daughter off “at the wrong Washington, DC airport after the fake interview, knowing we’d miss all flights back home to Alaska.”

Who Is America? is set to debut on Showtime this Sunday at 10 pm ET.
