SC Congressional Candidate Katie Arrington Seriously Injured in Fatal Car Crash

Katie Arrington, a Republican congressional candidate in South Carolina, was seriously injured in a fatal car crash last night.
The Post and Courier reports that Arrington was in a car when “the vehicle she was in was struck by another car driving northbound but in the wrong lane.”
The other driver was killed and Arrington was hospitalized.
Arrington’s Twitter account updated people on her condition and the severity of her injuries, as well as saying this:
As we all know, Katie Arrington is an extremely strong woman and has tremendous faith and an incredibly supportive family.

And it is from her strong faith, the support of her family, the prayers and support of our community, and the incredible doctors and staff at the hospital that she is certain she will be back to work for our state soon.

As her family asked last night, Katie asks for your continued prayers for the deceased and the deceased's family, as well as prayers for a quick recovery for Katie and her friend.

Arrington’s Democratic opponent Joe Cunningham announced he would be suspending his campaign in a statement that said, “Just hearing about the terrible accident that occurred overnight involving Katie Arrington. Amanda and I are lifting her and her family up in prayer right now. Please join us.”
Arrington defeated Mark Sanford in the recent primary race. Sanford and South Carolina senator Tim Scott sent their thoughts and prayers to Arrington and her family:
Our thoughts and prayers this morning go to Katie Arrington, her family and those involved in last night’s automobile accident. https://t.co/sV4E90CIj8
