Scalia’s Family Releases Weekend Funeral Plans to Honor the Justice’s Life
Judicial officials and Antonin Scalia‘s family have announced plans to honor the life of the late Supreme Court Justice.
While the conservative justice’s passing Saturday has already become a major flashpoint for political debate, as well as unanswered questions about the circumstances of his death, arrangements have been made now that his body has been returned to his hometown in Virginia. Scalia’s body will lie in repose at the Supreme Court on Friday, and a Saturday funeral service scheduled for 11 A.M. will follow at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

In a time-honored tradition of the court, Scalia’s chair, his bench, and the doors to the courtroom have all been adorned with a mournful black crepe in his memory. The Hill also reported the the flag outside the building will remain at half-staff for a total of 30 days.
