As the team at Morning Joe continued to parse just how much sh*t Donald Trump Jr. is now in, co-host Joe Scarborough took a moment to analyze President Trump’s morning tweets. In doing so, the ex-Congressman quipped that Trump had a new job.
“I’m just looking at the president’s Twitter feed,” he said. “He has become social media director for Fox & Friends.”
He then proceeded to list, with some (jealous?) annoyance, all of the Fox & Friends retweets now on the presidential feed.
The joke is one Scarborough has pulled from his quiver in the past. During a similar Fox & Friends retweet storm, the morning host suggested that Trump’s true calling was to be a writer at TVNewser — or Mediaite!
Trump is a known and regular Fox & Friends watcher and the retweets really come as no surprise. Rather, the subject came in context of Trump’s lack of tweets on his son’s growing Russia imbroglio. Instead Trump has dedicated the valuable real estate to Fox & Friends, slamming Democrats, and vowing to bring the Olympics to the U.S.
“For him to remain silent now, going on a third day about what’s going on with his son is a little bit head-scratching and of course one possibility is he doesn’t know what to say about it yet?” offered Mark Halperin. “At some point the PR and legal team around the Trump’s are going to have to decide how to push back.”
