Scarborough: ‘Steve Bannon Is President of the United States’

Joe Scarborough spent some time on his Friday show talking about the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement and his favorite subject — how Donald Trump is a stupid idiot who doesn’t know anything.

The segment began with a comparison of Trump’s inaugural speech and his Rose Garden address announcing the U.S. withdrawal. Both hit strong themes of America First and how the United States was losing out to other countries taking advantage of us.

“Well, Steve Bannon writes a good speech when he wants to write a good speech, and you can tell he wrote both those speeches,” said co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Scarborough wasn’t having that and suggested the address marked the return of President Bannon. The mercurial ex-Breitbart chairman who was rumored to be near exiting the White House a month ago, is now apparently back in the saddle — in Scarborough’s mind at least.

“No it’s stupidity. It’s ahistorical. It’s a lie that Donald Trump is telling to himself and to his supporters,” said Scarborough.  “Time Magazine was right. Steve Bannon is President of the United States.”

He continued:

He has gone in. Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about policy. Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about politics. Donald Trump doesn’t know anything about anything. He can get up and give a good speech. You listen to him talk about any topic and he wanders from sentence to sentence to sentence. So Steve Bannon is now the President of the United States. And that was more clear yesterday than ever before.

Brzezinski closed it out noting that the idea was “the worst thing that could happen to the United States.”

We’ll see you on Hannity later, Joe!
