Scott Brown: Kagan Is Pro-Military

SCOTUS Nominee Elena Kagan is making the meet-and-greet rounds with Senators this week and it appears that she has already managed to convince Scott Brown that she is pro military. Kagan’s attempt to restrict military recruiters from Harvard grounds when she was Dean of the law school there based on her opposition to DADT has been translated in some conservative circles to mean she is anti-military. Scott Brown now says otherwise.

Republican Sen. Scott Brown says Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan has persuaded him that she supports the military, despite her decision as dean of Harvard Law School to ban its recruiters from campus.

The first-termer from Massachusetts says he asked Kagan about the recruitment flap, and her answer made it clear that she backs the military. He says he doesn’t feel her judicial philosophy would hurt those who serve in the armed forces.
