Someone’s Already Filed to Start a Kanye 2020 PAC

kanyeKanye West announced a 2020 run for the presidency at the VMAs last night––in either in earnest, as a joke, or as subtle commentary on how the Donald Trump campaign has celebritized our political process––and there’s already a PAC out there supporting him.

Maryland Republican activist Eugene Craig filed with the FEC today to form the Ready For Kanye PAC.

Yes, this is a real thing.

West’s 2020 run has already some supporters and detractors, but Craig––who runs the Young Minority Republicans Fund––likes the idea.

He told The Washington Post he thinks West has some important things to say:

“I think he will bring an interesting dialogue to our party, and he’ll find a lot of people who want that dialogue. He’s pointed out the crippling racial disparities in the law and the economy. He’s talked about the pipeline of private prisons. He’s a genuine entrepreneur. Oh, not to mention that his first single was ‘Jesus Walks.'”
