South Carolina Cop Fired for Picture of Himself Wearing Confederate Boxers

 

South Carolina leaders took some serious steps this week against the Confederate flag flying at the state capitol. In turn, lots of other states and businesses very strongly distanced themselves from the flag. And then there was this police officer from North Charleston:

Yes, according to WCIV, Sgt. Shannon Dildine posted that picture on Facebook, and it didn’t take long before it took off online.

The North Charleston police chief sent him a termination letter reading, “Your posting in this manner led to you being publicly identified as a North Charleston Police officer and associated both you and the Department with an image that symbolizes hate and oppression to a significant portion of the citizens we are sworn to serve.”
