The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had some fun Tuesday night with the newest bombshell out of the FBI to rock the 2016 campaign trail. Just days after Bureau director James Comey wrote a letter to lawmakers highlighting the discovery of emails “that appear to be pertinent” to the investigation into Hillary Clinton‘s use of a private email server, the late night show on CBS took advantage of the fact that host Stephen Colbert is more or less a Comey doppelganger.
And in typical CBS hour-long drama fashion, the Late Show reimagined the FBI saga playing out for primetime television in FBI: Email Readers Unit.
“Discovered eleven days before the election, loose cannon James Comey has to read 650,000 emails on Huma Abedin‘s laptop,” says the dramatic voiceover, leading up to the hero’s signature catch phrase:
Comey don’t play that.
