‘Targeting People Black and Brown’: Protesters Forcibly Removed from Trump’s GOP Luncheon
Protesters were forcibly removed from a Donald Trump New York luncheon to speak up against his remarks about Muslims and others.
Trump held a $1000-a-plate luncheon today sponsored by a Pennsylvania Republican group, but according to the Associated Press, various protesters disrupted Trump’s speech and others attempted to do so as they walked into The Plaza Hotel.
Some of them chanted “Trump is trying to bring us down, targeting people black and brown” as security forcibly removed them from the building.
And various protesters––an estimated nine––disrupted Trump’s speech directly, with two of those protesters admitting they paid to be allowed into the dinner just so they could heckle Trump. One of them explained, “I’m really frightened by that kind of rhetoric.”
Another protester told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, “There have been so many acts of violence against Muslims because of Trump. It’s because of the hate coming out of his mouth.”
