The 8 Best Political Parody Accounts On Twitter
Love political parody accounts on Twitter? (Because really, who among us doesn’t?) Well, you may soon be out of luck because a new Arizona law could make these hilarious hijinks a felony. House Bill 2004, proposed by Arizona Republican State Rep. Michelle Ugenti would make it a crime to impersonate someone online without their permission, with the intent to “harm, defraud, intimidate, or threaten” anyone.
Arizona isn’t the first state to attempt a law that might shut down our beloved Twitter parody accounts. Texas, New York, California and Washington have enacted similar laws. Although the bills aren’t meant to target Twitter parodies, it might be a side effect of this legislation meant to prevent online bullying.
Just in case you won’t be able to view these soon, check out a slideshow of our very favorite political parodies on Twitter!
