The Johnny Depp/Amber Heard Apology to Australia is Very Strange

Actress Amber Heard has managed to avoid jail time after being caught failing to declare the two dogs she brought into Australia, in violation of the country’s strict quarantine laws.

Now she — along with her husband Johnny Depp — have released a stilted, sober apology that resembles the sort of forced confession you’d see from prisoners of a rogue state.

“When you disrespect Australian law,” a drowsy-sounding Depp says, “they will treat you firmly.”
