The Senate Will Hold Hearings on Sony Hack, Led by McCain
And now for today’s installment of How the World’s Gone to Hell over a Seth Rogen and James Franco movie: The Senate Armed Services Committee is going to hold hearings on the hack against Sony.
Senator John McCain said in an interview today that once he takes charge of the committee next month (when the new GOP-led Senate is sworn in), he wants to hold hearings to respond to this “act of war.”
McCain called the pulling of a movie an egregious act of censorship and said, “We have to respond in kind. We have lots of capability in cyber and we ought to start cranking that up.” The FBI today confirmed a North Korean role in the hacking and are weighing retaliatory options.
McCain also said, “Suck it up and show the movie.”
